Since I have started work on my car, I figured I'd start a build thread, even though it's going to be a slow one.

Background:
My car is a 2008 Subaru Impreza WRX. I have had it since November '09. This car serves multiple roles, it is my daily driver, family car, my toy for playing in the dirt and my "patrol" car.
Being that this car does everything in my life I can't go as crazy as some of my friends have with their impreza builds.

My goal for this car is to make it into some thing I can rally-x but still take it out and do some more serious off roading.

Plan:
A set of 1" spacers for some initial lift.
Forester struts/springs swap, gain about 2" lift.
Wider tire/wheel combo, at least 225/50 17 for now.
Full length skid plate.
Low profile roof rack with a few Hella 550's or maybe something from Rigid Industries.
Some more protection for the front end, like a tubular bar that I can also mount the lights on.

I am also planning on some power upgrades, such as turbo back exhaust, short ram intake and stage 2 tune.

Initial stock form:

Patrol Form, I have recently gone to LED lo-pro's so no more light bar.

My first major exterior modification was a set of 55w off road pencil beams.

Example of one of the guy's full build; he only has about 3 more weeks and it'll be complete.

I just drafted up a design for an actual front end light bar instead of just the brackets. So once I get that transferred over to the computer I'll be shooting it over to John to see what changes need to be done.

I have decided to go just a little different direction with it because I am now the administrator of AZRally.com which is a group to dedicated to establishing rallyx in Arizona. So I will still be going with larger tires and subtle solutions 1" lift spacers.

I have decided to get serious with this build now. All the patrol equipment is out, round about 70 pounds, I have a set of tires on order now.

Once those get in and mounted I will start up on the lightbar.
After the bar is up, I will be getting a 3" cat back straight pipe exhaust with a glasspack mounted mid pipe.
Once that is in the next step is an invidia downpipe and stage 2 tune.

Below are the results of an ai file being converted to jpeg, but you get the idea.
